Semi-Welded Plate Heat Exchanger

(3 customer reviews)

Semi-welded Plate Heat Exchangers are commonly used as evaporators, condensers, desuperheaters, or oil coolers and are designed for heating and cooling aggressive material. It also works with a wide range of refrigerants and is especially well-suited to ammonia-based applications. Semi-welded heat exchangers are employed in both organic and inorganic chemical processing where the chemicals used limit the kind of gaskets that may be used, or when the required design pressure makes fully-gasketed PHEs or traditional rubber seal heat exchangers unsuitable. We have build each heat exchanger to your exact specifications, ensuring a long-lasting solution that can endure harsh circumstances while reducing the risk of chemicals or refrigerants.

Description

In comparison to all-welded heat exchangers, our semi-welded plate heat exchangers have high thermal efficiency and low running cost. Instead of ordinary plates, the semi-welded product range employs cassette technology for greater safety. Two corrugated plates are stacked on top of each other and laser fused together as a cassette along the sealing groove created for the semi-welded PHE gasket.

For aggressive media, we specially offer a semi-welded plate for PHE. To make the plate cassette, two pieces of PHE stainless steel plates are welded back to back using a laser along the sealing groove for the gasket. The ordinary media side of each cassette is gasketed, while the aggressive media side is welded. A unique, damage-resistant ring gasket is mounted on the welded side. Only two of the four-ring gaskets at the inlet and outlet are contacted as the refrigerant flows from one cassette to the next. Our semi-welded plate heat exchangers have a long product lifetime and ensure safe operation with less danger of leakage thanks to a significant reduction in exposed gasket area.
